Itamar
Following on (but in no way equaling!) Margi’s amazing Morning Pages writing sessions which we all got so much from, thought we could all take some time together to write about one of life’s biggest pleasures - No gutterminds, the other one – Food!
In March we had three meetings via zoom over two weekends and a fair bit of home work in between, and ended up with a 500-600 word piece and a clearer understanding of what food writing can do for us, as readers or writers

Itamar’s food writing course has been a pleasure for many reasons. The Morning Pages group was such a boon during lockdown and this more intimate and more specific way of using words has been a very natural continuum. Whilst working in isolation, the feeling of the group working in the same way has been quite potent. The screen offering a sense of freedom as well as support. Based in three different continents and with references to very different experiences, I now have a better sense of who we all are. I think of myself as someone whose expression is rooted in the material, so thinking and crafting with words, about food has been a surprising route to stimulating ideas. Itamar is a very generous teacher, the insights and personal processes he shared felt like a real privilege.
